Meet New York Times best-selling thriller writer April Henry
at Ashland Public Library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd. in
Ashland, Oregon on Friday March 11, 2011 at 7pm.
April Henry's visit kicks off Jackson County Reads, sponsored by Jackson
County Public Libraries. In 2011, Jackson County Reads Mysteries and
there are lots of activities to thrill the hearts and minds of
Medford born, multi-talented April Henry has done it again with Girl, Stolen (Henry Holt, 2010). Blind Cheyenne is kidnapped and almost lost in the chaos. Her strength, determination and self-awareness win out.
April Henry writes for both teens and adults. She co-authors thrillers with Lis Wiehl (Hand of Fate was also published in 2010) and is the author of the widely read and hugely popular cozy series, the Claire Montrose license plate mysteries, and my favorite, the standalone, Learning to Fly.
This New York Times best-selling author grew
up in Medford where her father, Hank Henry was a well known public
figure, a newscaster at KTVL for about 20 years, Jefferson Public Radio
announcer and narrator for the first As It Was: Tales From the State of
Jefferson episodes, and was a member of the Medford City Council.
Henry's broadcaster jacket is in the collections of the Southern Oregon
Historical Society.
